"The second annual dinner followed in a similar vein with the honorees representing various disciplines including business, government, education, culture, and medicine. The event was held on April 22, 1988, at the Fountain Blue in Des Plaines, and Peter and Evelyn chaired the event. Honorees included: Senator Adeline Geo-Karis (Illinois state senator and mayor of Zion Illinois), Yiannis and Antigone Lambros (Hellenic Interlude radio program hosts), Dr. Fotios Litsas, (director of the Greek Studies Program at the University of Illinois Chicago, radio host, and writer), Leon Marinakos (honorary consular cultural attaché of Greece), Dr. John D. Nicholson (noted philanthropist and retired eye, ear, nose and throat doctor), and Sam Stavrakas (owner of Cosmopolitan Linens and Textiles and active in AHEPA’s south side chapter)."
